Ingredients
🍵 1 tsp agar agar powder
💧 300 ml (1 1/4 cups) water
🍬 1 tbsp sugar
🍓 1/2 cup (75 g) strawberries or seasonal fruit, diced
🍑 1/2 cup (75 g) canned peaches or mandarin oranges
🫘 100 g (3.5 oz) anko (sweet red bean paste)
🍯 2 tbsp kuromitsu (Japanese black sugar syrup) (or use dark molasses)
🍦 Optional: small scoop of vanilla or matcha ice cream
Preparation
1️⃣ Dissolve agar agar powder and sugar in water over medium heat.
2️⃣ Bring to a boil, stirring continuously, then simmer for 2 minutes.
3️⃣ Pour into a shallow container and let it cool until firm (about 30 min).
4️⃣ Cut the jelly into cubes once set.
5️⃣ Arrange the cubes in bowls with fruits, anko, and a drizzle of kuromitsu.
6️⃣ Top optionally with a scoop of ice cream before serving.
